Strengthening the Quality of Remote Learning: Reflection Tool

As youth leaders and teachers across the country rapidly innovated to deliver remote learning, SCRI has reflected upon nearly three decades of research and evidence to consider how to measure quality in a remote learning environment. We know how important quality experiences are to a young person’s ability to learn and grow.

BellXcel introduced BellXcel Remote this summer, an evidence-based, teacher-led approach that adapts the classroom experience for home use. As its affiliate, SCRI developed a tool for BellXcel partners to reflect on the quality of their summer programs, since for many assessing quality in a remote environment is new.

We are sharing the Remote Quality Reflection Tool freely to provide a resource to youth organizations and schools implementing remote learning and to gain feedback on the value of such an assessment.  We intend for this tool to be used beyond summer environments – including the school year and afterschool. We hope you will use this, share broadly, and tell us about your experience.  We believe that the use of this tool will help to increase the collective knowledge base of remote learning across youth development.
